McAvoy to Showcase Latest Advancements in Offsite Construction at Healthcare Estates 2017

The McAvoy Group will be presenting its full range of offsite solutions and latest innovations at Healthcare Estates 2017. It will also be launching a new and highly flexible finance package to help NHS trusts fund new offsite facilities out of revenue streams.

McAvoy's team of specialists for both permanent and interim modular buildings will be available throughout the exhibition and conference to assist health service providers, architects and contractors considering the use of offsite construction, to expand capacity more efficiently, to meet the increasing demand for patient services.

The new finance package is a response to increasingly constrained capital budgets across the NHS. It will allow trusts to increase capacity using offsite construction with a highly flexible operating lease option. This funding solution has low set up costs, and is accounted for as revenue expenditure, spread over the life of the lease.

The McAvoy stand at Healthcare Estates will also demonstrate the company's increasing use of BIM technology and virtual reality to improve the efficiency of building design and construction for healthcare projects. These highly innovative techniques facilitate client decision making to streamline the design process, and enhance stakeholder engagement, reducing risk, saving time and optimising the benefits of offsite solutions to the benefit of patient care.

Virtual reality and 3D modelling are particularly critical for healthcare projects which typically have highly complex building services, for example for medical gases, air flows and infection control. Here, the new technology offered by McAvoy allows the M&E services to be fully integrated within the building structure at the design stage, maximising work offsite and improving both construction and cost efficiency.

McAvoy has extensive experience in developing bespoke building solutions for highly constrained hospital sites and in minimising disruption to patient care during construction. Sites that are completely inaccessible for traditional construction can be developed and existing facilities can be expanded rapidly and cost effectively, both vertically and horizontally.

With an impressive portfolio of healthcare projects across the UK, McAvoy has successfully delivered ward accommodation, operating theatres and laboratories, consulting suites, endoscopy units, primary care facilities, and community health centres.  Each project is designed to meet the precise requirements of the healthcare provider and the site.

McAvoy also supplies interim buildings to help NHS trusts increase capacity at peak periods or for decant use while other hospital facilities are refurbished or redeveloped.

McAvoy is accredited under the LHC Modular Buildings Framework, NHS Shared Business Services, and the Southern Modular Building Framework.
